Container airbags are great tools for securing cargo in logistics operations, but choosing the right filling gun and inflation apparatus is critical for their efficient use. Incorrect equipment slows down the process and can cause the airbag to burst or fail to secure the cargo due to insufficient inflation.
Robust, reliable, and easily inflatable container airbags play a major role in protecting cargo and minimizing transportation damage, and are much less costly than other cargo securing methods.
The guns used to inflate airbags transfer compressed air from the compressor into the airbag in a controlled manner.
Standard Filling Guns:These are the most common and economical models. They usually have plastic or aluminum bodies. Suitable for small to medium-sized operations.
Venturi (Fast Flow) Filling Guns:These models work with the "Venturi principle," which vacuums out outside air and pushes it in.
They fill 30-50% faster than standard guns. They save time with large container volumes.
Not all airbags have the same valve structure. Therefore, the attachments (nozzles) fitted to the end of the gun must be compatible with the valve type: Standard Nozzles: Usually used for classic paper (kraft) pads with 1/4" or 1/2" valve inlets. Fast-Lock Attachments: These are mechanisms that lock when attached to the valve and provide an airtight seal. The operator does not need to constantly press the gun.
Tip for Efficient Operation; Check your compressor's pressure setting when inflating airbags.
For most airbags, a working pressure of 0.1 - 0.3 Bar (1.5 - 4 PSI) is sufficient. Excessive pressure can damage both the gun and the airbag.
1-) Wear protective goggles when inflating the airbag.
2-) Do not use the airbag filling gun and its accessories for other purposes.
3) Do not attempt to inflate the airbags with more air than the operating pressure values shown in the chart.
4) When inflating the airbags, ensure that no surface of the airbag comes into contact with a sharp or pointed surface.
5) Wait 20 minutes after inflating the airbags.
